different ones have different uses.

For example, eucalyptus essential oil is the smell in Vick's vaporub and is good for opening the air passages and helping breathing especially during a cold and congestion.

Tree tree oil kills bacteria in the air

Lavender essential oil calms people down. It helps one sleep when they cannot turn off their thoughts when deeply inhaled.

Some scents like rosemary help with depression

some like lemon, orange and grapefruit are uplifting and are good used as perfumes by adding a little water or oil to them (essential oils except for lavender may burn your skin so do not use on skin undiluted. lavender essential oil is actually use for burns.

Other ones I like as perfumes are neroli, almond, anise, rose and so forth

some like clove are good for toothaches

some like lemon and frankincense are good to remove warts.

some are used in homemade household cleaners like adding lemon essential oil to homemade furniture polish or almond to homemade laundry soap.

Some are used in the bath for different moods or in massages

They each many, diverse uses, so you might want to look online for different ones or get an aromatherapy book

To diffuse the scent into the air, use a diffuser, a light bulb diffuser, put it in boiling water, or a vaporizer or put on clothes, or sheets or a tissue and inhale deeply.

It is very important that one uses real 100% essential oils (like one gets at the health food store) and not one like at stores like meijers as only the real essential oils have any medical properties
