I haven't slept in over a week!!! Help!!!!!!?

I haven't slept in a week and I know that if I don't sleep sooner or later i'll die. Iv'e been to several doctors and they don't know whats wrong with me. All they say is that I have insomnia. They've given me strong sedatives to try and force myself to sleep but they just make me hyper. I really need help. I would take drastic measures if I needed to,which i do need to. Do you know of any drugs or any other sedatives or something? or chlorophorm? I'm afraid of dying. Please help!!!

MELATONIN! Find that stuff fast. It works wonders for sleep disorders, it's the natural stuff in your brain that makes you fall asleep. Don't even joke about chloroform!

  • Stress is a major cause of insomnia. If the pills arent helping then dont take them, the potential for addiction is massive.

    I am an insomniac and I have Valium to help me sleep. I only use it about once a month if I am desperate for a good nights sleep before something big happening the next day.

    Try things like Lavender Oil perhaps? If you find that you are sleeping a little bit, try staying awake all night and all day, then you may collapse that night for a great nights sleep.

    Another thing that sets the body's sleep clock is daylight. If you are a homebody, try spending some time outside. The more time you spend outside in sunlight, the body releases a chemical, when enough of this chemical builds, you start to feel tired. Im not saying stand in a field all day, but go for a walk perhaps and spend some time during your day in the outdoors.
  • The thing that might be going wrong is drinking beverages with caffeine in them. You might want to cut these out all together. When your body flushes out the caffeine you can get back to sleeping. another thing that you might try is to go to a local sex shop and purchase a blindfold. I have one that forces my eyes to stay closed through the night. This will also cut out all light that comes into the room. Another thing to try is not to go to bed with a lot on your mind. It will help you to get to sleep faster.

    Check out your diet and any medication. Smokers often have more problems getting to sleep. Some people are more sensitive to chemicals and substances than others

    Quite often though a few days of insomnia can mean you become anxious about it and then that continues the insomnia. In that case I would recommend hypnotherapy and EFT. These techniques will help to address any anxiety issues and habits and remind your mind of how to go to sleep again.

  • possibly a vitamin or mineral shortage.Try an alternative dr who is an herbalist.Also certain drugs can cause it.I lost three months many yrs ago from a pain killer the Va had me on.was not susposed to take it for long and they didnt tell me and kept me on it.there have been people going on for a yr and yet alive.you need a specialist in that field.
  • First stop to drink coffee or tea or coca kola. drink only water. Do nt take any chemical drugs. Take natural only. I take Melatonin 3mg. It is very good. You may take only one pill a day but in your situation you may take once (but only once - take care) 2 pills. There is from Bach Flowers some drops that can relax you try that too.
  • Avoid everything that contains caffeine including chocolate, coffee, tea, and sodas. Instead, only drink water until you finally fall asleep. Get yourself some Nature Made Sleep over the counter, it's safe and non habit forming and will help you get a good night's sleep.
  • I can understand if you say you havent had a good night's sleep in over a week because not having slept in over a week, you would not be writing this. Visit your doctor to discuss this and to resolve the problem. Good luck.

  • First of all,just calm down a little bit,this anxiety you now have,is because you are now ina state of panic because you are not sleeping well.And to tell you the truth,I really don't know of any other medication that you can take.Because you said the doctors have given you very strong sedatives.I also had this problem so I went to my doctor and he told me(when you get sleepy enough,you will sleep).Actually,I was in a weird way more calm when told me this.And he to(my doctor) gave me very strong sedatives(like you).And they didn't work at all.Also I began to notice that I was getting myself soooo worked up because I have tried everything to help me sleep.So that being said...you sound like I did when I just myself sooo worked up from NOT being able to sleep.So,I'm just guessing that you too are getting worked up about it.Just relax and play it out..and trust me....you will soon enough fall fast asleep.
