"They" might think about it - but they don't obsess about it...

"We" on the other hand, have thoughts like that pop up at weird times...like before or after job interviews, while in the middle of class, before a date, etc.

  • In some case yes. Say for example, you've been working outside all day on a hot summer day; well, a beer can sound really good about that point! Or, if you walk passed a Starbucks and get a hankering for a double tall mocha with extra whipped cream.

For most other drugs, it is a completely difference story and entirely contingent on the drug in question. Most drugs tend to be pretty addictive and come with a myriad of health risks. These best avoided without a specific prescription from a trained medical professional.

I think that the main difference between a simple cravings and those brought on by addiction is 1) what brought the craving on and 2) if it can be ignored relatively easily if not fulfilled.

If you find yourself craving drugs/alcohol to cope with difficult situations, or if the cravings increase in intensity if not fulfilled, then you may have a problem in which you should probably seek medical assistance with.

If you feel the cravings are caused by addiction then likely they are; go with your gut on these things, and get help quickly if you feel there is a problem!
  • Ummm yes. Sometimes ya feel like smokin' a bowl, but that doesn't mean you're addicted to it any more than you can be addicted to Ben & Jerry's.
  • never happens. i honestly can't understand why anybody would become an addict in the first place. **** is so bad for you, and illegal.
  • simple answer is no
