Resolved Question

Can i use goldenseal pills daily to help get rid of my yeast infection?

and why can you only take it for 2 weeks and then have to go off of it for 2 weeks, i also take garlic pills, cranberry pills, azo yeast pills, and 2 different types of probiotics and i still get yeast infections all the time. so im wondering if the goldenseal might help a little. p.s i have been to 9 different obgys and none help or or know what to do with me, so im trying things out on my own to try to improve my health.

herbs work best when given a "rest''. As an outside person, unprofessional may I suggest yes to the goldenseal and Oil of Oregano capsules. This is a suggestion and not medical advice. Do your homework on Oregano and find out the anti-biotical effects of it.

Olive Leaf Extract also.

  • Try the following:
Biotin 300 mcg 3x daily (inhibits yeast growth)
Vitamin C 2000-5000 mg daily (improve immunity)
Tea Tree Oil applied topically (fight infection, reduces itching)
Avoid sugar, fruit, refined carbohydrates, alcohol, and all dairy products except yogurt.
  • When taking Pro-Biotic Acidophilus, make sure you are taking the strongest dosage on the market. I believe its 5/10 billion per pill. Your local pharmacy has it in stock. You should also try taking Dannon yogurt plain all natural nothing added into your vagina 2 spoonfuls for at least 3 days straight then weekly. It will help tremendously. I do it all the time when ever I feel a slight itch or uncomfortableness. It works. Also you may want to watch how you bathe. If you have a yeast infection do not sit in your tub and bathe as it may be something in the water causing your infection like bubble bath, scented oils etc. Take a shower until your infection if over. Also every day when you shower use a clean new separate washcloth each time you shower for your private area. Never use the same washcloth from one day to the next, always a new one. So you should be using 2 washcloths, One for your body and the other for your privates. Washing under your arms and your anus add bacteria to your towel which can transfer to your vagina and cause the infection. When going to the rest room washing your hands before going to the bathroom and wiping your anus thoroughly until you see no residue. You should also wipe from front to back when going to the bathroom, especially if you are prone to yeast infections. Also wearing tight clothes and not wearing panties are also causes of yeast infections. Your sex partner may be infected from your previous bouts with the yeast and may need treatment. He just needs to take the over the counter pill of a probiotic acidophilus. Most men who carry yeast infection have no symptoms. So you could be getting it from your spouse or significant other. Hope this helps. :)
