Why do people who do drugs lose their teeth?

Resolved Question

Why do people who do drugs lose their teeth?

For example there's a stereotype (I don't know if it's true though) of crack users with bad or missing teeth (there was recently an article of a famous celebrity who (used to or still) does crack and her pic obviously shows her teeth were dentures (she's not that old).

all recreational drugs acidify your blood stream prompting your body to rip the precious minerals calcium and magnesium right out of your bones in an attempt to neutralise it ..... calcium and magnesium are essential in the process of building strong bones and teeth ....... along with vitamin C and vitamin D et al........ neglecting to brush your teeth sets up a breeding ground for bacteria and decay as well ....... as well as eating a diet consisting of highly refined foods loaded with processed sugar.

yup...... nasty side affects has drug addiction.

  • Thanks. Drug addicts can lose their teeth because they don't brush their teeth at all because they don't give a about their teeth.

  • Drug addicts can lose their teeth because they don't brush their teeth at all because they don't give a **** about their teeth.

Also, meth is very, very, very bad for your teeth. Crack and freebase coke are bad for your teeth also.

  • that isnt a stereotype its true. meth addicts lose their teeth. many of the chemicals in methamphetamine are corrosive and eat away at your teeth. Crack cocaine is also very bad for the teeth but not nearly as bad as meth.
  • When you take drugs you get a craving for sweet things. Its the sugar that they consume that makes there teeth bad not the actual drugs. Its been known for drug addicts to eat whole tins of condensed milk just to fill the craving they have.
  • People who use methamphetamine or crack do not eat as well as the rest of us, and some have bad Hygiene (not all drug users are dirt). What happens is the acid in saliva eats away there teeth. Since they seldom keep a regular diet or maintain Hygiene!
  • its not crack its meth, meth uses loose thier teeth as a side effect of the drug all the chemicals attack ur teeth and kill them
