Hemp oil would make a good supplement for Parkinson's disease. I don't think that it is a stand alone treatment. In small doses cannabis doesn't cause the release significant amounts of dopamine. And higher doses are not recommended for PD patients.

"Hemp oil is natures most balanced oil for human nutrition (3:1 LA to LNA ratio) and is easily digestible; in fact this oil could provide all of our Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) requirements for life, due to the balanced 80% EFA content of the oil."

Parkinson's disease has been added to the approved Medical marijuana uses in several states. It is primarily an adjunctive usage and can relieve pain, help with depression, improve appetite.

In the 2nd article at the site below, you will find several links to information about medical marijuana use.

Hemp oil is readily available and your question made me realize that this is a MUST staple in this household as my husband who has PD would certainly benefit. And don't overlook hemp seed which can be used the way many people use sesame seeds.

Don't expect any sudden improvements because with a PD patient if there is a slowing of progression you really can't tell. But if things don't get worse, you know that something is working well.

In terms of epilepsy, take a look at this discussion in Epilepsy.com - just keep scrolling for many positive responses - some people did not have a positive response:

Take a look at this article for a list of nutritional supplements for epilepsy:

So the answer is it may be an effective for both PD and Epilepsy as the brain had several cannabinoid receptors for good reason. But there may be some drug interaction so you need to be cautious in your use of anything stronger than hemp oil or seeds.

For epilepsy you do want to avoid rosemary, jojoba and sage and possibly any strong scented soaps because they can be problem scents for epileptics. But you certainly could use a hemp oil soap.

Just remember that it will show up in drug testing.

Look for cold pressed oils in dark glass bottles.
Don't confuse hemp oil with "hash oil" they aren't quite the same thing. Hemp oil is not suitable for frying - better for salads. Excellent source of essential fatty acids. Report Abuse
