Two suggestions:

First, get yourself several watermelons and draw yourself a warm bath. Eat as much watermelon as you can (and nothing else) and stay in the bath, passing the urine and dissolved stones into the bathwater - which you can replace to keep cleaned and warm from time to time. This will usually dissolve even large stones in one or two days and also release small sand like stones as well and completely flush out your kidneys. Watermelon is wonderful for dissolving kidney stones, and also for keeping them from forming in the future.

Note: Also be prepared for some pretty thorough bowel movements/bowel cleansing action as the day progresses - and for this you should momentarily change from the bathtub to the toilet!.

My other suggestion is to get a product called StoneBreaker which is a formulation of Jon Barron's and is available at Baseline Nutritionals.

  • First, you need to know if the stone is calcium or protein. If its calcium in nature it can be dissolved in many ways. Protein stones cannot be, and probably require surgery: however there are many new drugs available that can minimize the size of a stone. In any event, drink lots of water. Water will clear your kidneys of any foreign particles. The problem is passing the stone. There in lies the problem. If it stays put all is well, if it moves you have to go seek medical attention. All hospitals have social workers who can help you work out your bills. I have had that problem and they can be very helpful.

  • Find a way to supplement your diet with magnesium. Try to add 350mg of magnesium to your diet daily. This treatment has been found to eliminate kidney stones in some patients. Magnesium has been studied for the last 40 years and results have always been the same. Magnesium helps the body naturally rid itself of kidney stones.

Avoid snacks and foods that are high in sugar. This includes soft drinks and juices. Sugar has been associated with the formation of kidney stones. Avoid sugars until your kidney stones pass. When you consume something sweet let it be something with natural sugar, like fruit.

Drink plenty of water, but also add fruit and vegetable juices including carrot, grape and orange juices. Such juices contain high levels of citrates. Citrates help reduce the buildup of uric acid and eliminate the formation of calcium salts, both contributors to the formation of kidney stones.

Lastly, eat foods high in chlorophyll. Vegetables high in chlorophyll have been shown to help cleanse kidneys, helping to eliminate kidney stones. Include foods like asparagus, wheat grass, and fresh parsley in your diet.
