Medical Marijuana Green Card California "Legitimate Sincere Question"?

Resolved Question

Medical Marijuana Green Card California "Legitimate Sincere Question"?

I have an 87 year old grandfather whom is in excrutiating pain also with less than a year to live and the doctors have tried everything to alleviate the pain. They believe now to give Medical Marijuana a try. His appointment is Wednesday to get paperwork for prescription marijuana. Are they papers that will need to be filled out and submitted or a presciption on paper that has to be submitted or are they the actual greencard. I know the benefits of the medicinal marijuana but do not know how people go about getting the green card if the doctor does not give it to you at the appointment. Again I live in the state of California and am inquiring because if they are papers that have to be submitted then I will know that he has to wait longer for his relief. Please inform me. Thank you in advance.

A lot depends on what state you are in. If you are in California, which it looks like you are, finding a doctor to prescribe it is as easy as pie. They prescribe it for PMS and insomnia, so if your father is terminal there is no way they are going to deny him.

Its good to bring in some documentation of your illness, just to be sure. If his regular doc is already going to prescribe it, thats great. If not, there are doctors who specialize in medical marijuana evaluations. You can find them in the back of LA or SF Weekly and others, or you can do a search or go to the website for NORML and they will point you in the right direction. There is also a group callied Medicann or something that is an affiliation of medical marijuana doctors.

It couldnt be any easier. They will give you the prescription (Ask for two copies). Then you have to locate a dispensary. There are lots in the big cities, harder to find in hick towns like Bakerfield where they still do raids which are of questionable legality. If you live in a larger city, the prescribing doctor or NORML should help you find a location to buy it.

When you get inside, you will have your choice of marijuana strains....Indica for pain, used in the evening. Sativa in the AM to get stuff done and alleviate depression. You can safely combine it with opiate drugs, and together they have an even better effect. No opiates with alcohol though.
